Peter Samuelson

Mr. Samuelson was born in North Hollywood, California and received his early French horn training from Eugene Sherry of Universal Studios. He also studied with Sinclair Lott of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Fred Fox of Twentieth Century Fox Studios. After high school he studied with Maurice Faulkner and James Winter in California, Frank Brouk of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Joseph Singer and Simon Kovar of the New York Philharmonic and Barry Tuckwell in London, England on a Canada Council grant.

As an orchestral musician, he has been principal horn with: Charlottetown Festival Orchestra, CBC-Halifax Chamber Orchestra, Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Florida Symphony Orchestra, Halifax Symphony Orchestra, Kansas City Philharmonic, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, Royal Winnipeg Ballet. He also was a member of the Canadian Opera Orchestra, National Ballet Orchestra of Canada, and played extra horn for the Chicago Symphony, Symphony Nova Scotia and the Toronto Symphony. Mr. Samuelson has played commercial radio, tv and motion picture recordings in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. In Toronto, he also played many shows and concerts at O'Keefe Centre, Ontario Place and Royal Alexandra Theatre.
