Edward Barbeau began to study the organ at his parish church at age thirteen. He completed his ARCCO (Associate of the Royal Canadian College of Organists) under Henry Rosevear while he was a mathematics undergraduate at the University of Toronto. Later he studied under William Wright and over the years has played for many church services as well as Convocations at the University of Toronto, and has performed music by Buxtehude, Bach, Franck and Karg-Elert in recital. Currently, professor emeritus of mathematics, he is an enthusiastic supporter of music in the schools and in the community.
