Bassoon
Dorothy requested the oboe in high school but was given a bassoon—which was kismet, as the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra had a bassoonist opening the next year.
She graduated in Mathematics from University of Toronto and escaped the stress of her corporate career by playing in community orchestras, small ensembles and pit orchestras.
In addition to the joy of literally being immersed inside great music, Dorothy’s love of playing comes from the many talented, fascinating people she’d never have met otherwise.
