Dr. Matthew Emery

Dr. Matthew Emery is a Canadian composer who “writes with an honesty which enchants” (Vancouver Sun) and whose music is "profoundly beautiful and moving" (CBC Music). His works have been performed in twenty-four countries, with recent performance venues including the Great Wall of China, the White House and the Musikverein. His music has been commissioned and performed by the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, National Youth Choir of Canada, European Union Youth Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Vancouver Chamber Choir, Elmer Iseler Singers, Orchestra London, the Art of Time Ensemble, and the Bach Music Festival of Canada Orchestra, and others. Matthew studied at the University of British Columbia and earned his Masters and Doctorate at the University of Toronto.
